We're recruiting!
Salaried GP

Fancy doing things differently?

At Mount Pleasant Practice we have been reviewing our way of working, in response to increasing patient demand, aiming to improve and maintain the quality of our working day.

Already investing in Workflow and Pathology Go is decreasing the admin burden considerably, allowing earlier finish times.

We recognize that GPs don’t need to see every sore throat, cough or cold and have now a strong allied health team to work alongside the GP team. We have excellent pharmacy cover, managing medication requests and will shortly be minor illness trained.  A Paramedic Practitioner sees acute presentations and extensively covers visits. We also have an expert ANP and Physician Associate that both assist with on the day demand as well as chronic conditions including dermatology, gynecology and mental health.

We are also introducing Klinic a new triage system integrated with our EMIS web software that will allow us to control how, where and by whom our patients are assessed, so that they are seen or spoken to at the right time by the best person. Therefore, when you see a patient there is a lot of information already available and you do not need to individually pre-triage. The system uses automated intelligence so that the questions and information available is optimized.

These changes are allowing us to build less pressurized, better surgeries for our GP team. We are looking to move to 15-minute face to face appointments and to build your working day around your individual preferences on seeing patients. We want this role to work for you, so if you prefer to not do remote consults, just face to face and have a more standardized day we can work with this. If you are IT savvy and enjoy more remote medicine, you can join us in the Klinic triage team allocating appointments and using Accurx to communicate more effectively with patients. We are also keen to train and develop our teams, so if there are interests that you are keen to pursue, we are happy to support personalized development too.

Mount Pleasant has a fantastic, hardworking, diverse team with a positive friendly ethos. We have periodic evening meals out, and various team building events in between. We also have an afternoon meal out bi-annually as a clinical team, where we plan together how we see the continuing development of our services and optimization of our own job satisfaction.

We are situated in an AONB with beautiful market towns, and rural community with excellent schools and a happy, resilient welcoming community. We offer generous maternity and paternity packages (over and above the model contract) including six months full maternity pay. We have a lot to offer a new GP team member and look forward to hearing from you.

Salary based on £10,450 per session but variable according to contract and preference of working.
